In January 2017 the church agreed a Vision and purpose statement to guide it in its mission.

“To grow together as Disciples of Christ and to make him known in our community”

We aim to achieve this by the following three paths of activty.

To Engage – Both community and church to grow in knowing and following Jesus

To Equip – All in the church to enable them to take their part in the work of the church – regardless of age
To Encourage – All in the church to get involved in the mission of the church.”

The following Scriptures help us focus as a church on this vision and its aims:

Ephesians 4:11-13  So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,

to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built upuntil we all reach unity in the faith

and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead

our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us

what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1Peter 3:15-16  But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to

give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those

who speak maliciously against your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
